Do you accommodate food allergies?
Yes, we do our best to accommodate you. Please let us know when you register if you have any food allergies.
What are the sleeping arrangements?
We have 8 rooms with bunks and a private bathroom. We also have 1 large room with lots of bunks and 2 adjoining bathrooms that the girls can share. For sleeping arrangements, girls are put in groups of 4-8 per 2 mentors.
How do you make the groups?
This year the sleeping arrangements will be made based on grade, and we will seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance in making the mentor small groups, which will mostly stay within grades. First time attendees will have the opportunity to request 1 friend.
Can I request to be with my friends?
This year, primarily because of space issues, we are limiting requests to first-time attendees only. You will still have plenty of time to spend with friends, but sleeping arrangements and mentor group times will mostly be assigned based on grade.
Can I keep my phone at the conference?
No, you cannot. This is a policy made at the very beginning. When you arrive, your phone goes in a ziploc bag with your name on it. You’ll get it back at the end of the conference. Your mentors have phones and can take pictures for you if you’d like. We want to optimize your time at the conference and remove all distractions. If your parents need to contact you in an emergency they can call Wanda anytime during the conference at 319-936-0892.
How are mentors chosen?
Mentors are chosen by recommendations and/or connections that the leadership team has to Christian, adult women who are passionate about mentoring girls. We have an application process complete with a background check run through Cornerstone Community Church.
Can we bring snacks and drinks?
Yes please! We take all the snack and drink donations we can get! Bring them to the kitchen when you arrive and we’ll be sure to set them out for everyone to enjoy.
